Book Lettering System
The BLS2 takes automated lettering to the next level. The system was designed specifically for the yearbook industry, but can be used to stamp on any finished books. The input conveyor can handle a dozen cased-in quarto-sized books for several minutes of unattended operation. The machine operator simply puts books on the conveyor. The machine automatically detects the books and one-by-one loads them into the machine for stamping. An output conveyor catches the finished books, at which point they’re ready to be boxed and shipped.
Books can be series production, or they can each be unique. With the optional bar-code reader, the BLS2 can identify each book, communicate with your database, and retrieve variable data on the fly. In the same way, it automatically sets itself up for each job, for zero make-ready time. Simply put a book on the conveyor and hit the GO button in software. Then line up another job on the input conveyor behind right the first one. Since the machine can identify every book, it’ll do all the rest, adjusting print-position, depth, dwell, and other parameters automatically.
The BLS2 is the smartest machine Flesher has ever built. There’s really nothing to do but load books onto the input conveyor, and unload them from the other end. This gives your operators time to do other things, like pack and ship the finished product.
